Wallace Hall & WRWO 94.5 FM Studio
We are seeking funding to transform the passageway and alley area between Wallace Hall, home of WRWO 94.5 FM, and the neighboring Roxy Theatre into a welcoming, lighted public art installation that draws visitors, celebrates local creativity, and strengthens access to our nonprofit community projects. This investment would create a more inviting cultural destination while improving the safety, accessibility, and long-term sustainability of the building that supports our work.
Funding would help address critical building needs, including tuck pointing, air conditioning, an exterior staircase for emergency egress, and an elevator to advance disability inclusion. These improvements would make Wallace Hall safer, more functional, and more accessible for volunteers, artists, listeners, visitors, and community partners.
The proposed art installation would extend beyond beautifying the passageway to include the rear side of the building and the surrounding alley area. Thoughtfully designed exterior features could help redirect water away from the foundation, activate an underused space, and create a gathering area where people can experience music, art, and community engagement. With support, this project can preserve an important local media and arts space while making it more inclusive, resilient, and attractive to the public.
